Is the Bible God’s
word?
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work”. (2 Tim 3:17-17 NIV)
"And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will
do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all,
you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the
prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the
will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy
Spirit." (2 Pet 1:21 NIV)
Does God care for me?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God
did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the
world through him.” (John 3:16-17)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us”. (Rom 5:8 NIV)
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son
into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we
loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice
for our sins”. (1 John 4:9-10 NIV)
Who is Jesus
Christ?
"But what about you?" he asked. Who do you say I am? Simon Peter
answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Mat 16:16
NIV)
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in
very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be
grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he
humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that
is above every name, (Phil 2:5-9 NIV)
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many
times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by
his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made
the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact
representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand
of the Majesty in heaven”. (Heb 1:1-3 NIV)
How will the future be?
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love,
unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the
good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its power”. (2 Tim 3:1-4
NIV)
”The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith
and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings
come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as
with a hot iron”. (1 Tim 4:1-2 NIV)
Will Jesus
return?
"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking
into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven,
will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (Acts
1:11 NIV)
“For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his
angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done”.
(Matt 16:27 NIV)
“We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God
will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to
the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left
till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have
fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a
loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of
God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still
alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever”. (1
Thess 4:14-17 NIV)
What must I do to be
saved?
“That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is
with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says,
"Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." (Rom
10:9-10 NIV)
“He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be
saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will
be saved--you and your household." (Acts 16:30-31 NIV)
”for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
(Rom 10:13 NIV)
